Elaine Bessie Barber

Elaine Barber, 80, Edgemont, died Sat Dec 21, 2013 at Fountain Springs Healthcare. She was born July 19, 1933 to Carl A and Doris ( DeWitt) Peterson in Rapid City and she was raised on a ranch at Folsom and graduated from Rapid City High School. She married Vaughn Kiggins and moved to Michigan. She later returned to South Dakota where she met and married the love of her life, Jack Barber of Edgemont. Elaine enjoyed gardening, quilting and sewing. She loved spending time with her children and grandchildren. Elaine is survived by her three children, Viola Baker; Sherrie Neubert both of Hill City and Ralph Lauzon, Hermosa; four step-daughters, Robin Hellwig and Kim Kunzman both of Alliance; Diane Olef and Becky Carstenson both of Oregon and two stepsons, Rick Lauzon and David Lauzon both of Oregon and many grandchildren and great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband Jack Barber, her parents Carl and Doris Peterson, her brother Gene Peterson, her sister Alice Rogers and an infant son, Baby Kiggins.
