October 9, 1946 - October 28, 2012 Service Date: November 9, 2012 Graveside services will be 2:00 p.m., Friday Nov 10, 2012 at Black Hills National Cemetery with Pastor Dan Menefee officiating. Full military honors will be provided by the Rushmore VFW Post #1273 Honor Guard. Family and friends are invited to share in a Celebration of Life and the ‘Many Hats of Jay” at the Seattle’s Best Coffee Shop in the Alex Johnson Hotel, 523 6th Street, following the interment. |

Gerald Wayne ‘Jay’ Griffin, 66, Rapid City, died Sunday Oct. 28, 2012 at his home. The many ‘Hats of Jay’ – Cowboy Dance Hat; Tennis; Skiing; Fisherman, Army, Entrepreneur, Computer Chip Manufacturing, Harley Davidson; Golf; Hunting; Gardening; Cruise Director; Film Directing; Carpenter and Second Hand Jay. He is survived by his mother, Laura Jay; his sisters, Patricia Dellwo and Claudia Corwin. Jay had many nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family and friends throughout the world. He had many longtime, loving and supportive friends here in Rapid City and the surrounding areas. | |
