Gerald Pillen

Gerald F Pillen, 62, Rapid City, died Wednesday, November 14, 2012 at Rapid City Regional Hospital. He was born May 13, 1950 in Plattsburg, NY to Harold and Esther (Todd) Pillen. Gerald and his brother moved to Rapid City in 1960. He graduated from Rapid City High School. Gerald entered the US Navy Oct 2, 1968 and was honorably discharged Sept 29, 1972. Gerald attended National College of Business and earned a degree in Business Management. Gerald married Elizabeth ‘Beth’ Moore in Rapid City on July 29, 1983. He worked at Howard Johnson’s for 20 years, retiring in 1993, and was an avid San Diego Chargers fan. He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth ‘Beth’ Pillen, 2 step-sons, Bob Moore, Panama City Beach, FL and Dan Moore, Black Hawk, SD; his step-daughter, Kathy Dirk, Rapid City; 3 granddaughters; 2 grandsons; his brother Barry (Ellie) Pillen, Pierre; his nephew Todd Pillen and 2 great nieces. He was preceded in death by his parents, step-mother and grandparents.
