April 22, 1930 - December 9, 2009 Service Date: December 14, 2009 Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m., Monday Dec. 14, 2009 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church with Rev. Doug Free officiating. Interment will follow at Pine Lawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be 5 to 7 p.m., Sunday Dec. 13th followed by a prayer service at 7 p.m., at Behrens-Wilson Funeral Home. |

Alan D. Horst, 79, Rapid City; died Wednesday Dec. 9, 2009 at Golden Livingcenter Black Hills. He was born April 22, 1930 in Herrick, SD to Edward and Freda (Anhorn) Horst. He graduated from Burke High School. Al worked for Behrens Mortuary for several years. After retiring from Behrens, he started A & M Transport. Al loved spending time with his family. He attended the Black Hills Threshing Bee each year in Sturgis. He is survived by his wife Carol Horst, Rapid City; his children, Albert Horst, Hermosa; Pam Escott and Cindy Platt, both of Rapid City; 8 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; two brothers, Donn Horst, California and Willie Horst, Colorado and his sister, Arlene Davis, Colorado. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Sandra Moser and granddaughter, Heather Escott. | |
