Richard F. Gilbert

Richard Francis Gilbert, 63, Rapid City died Wednesday July 23, 2008 at Rapid City Regional Hospital. Richard was born July 4, 1945 in Danvers, MA to Joseph A. and Laura (Spencer) Gilbert. Richard was in the US Air Force from Oct. 14, 1963 and was honorably discharged Oct. 13, 1967. He was a police officer for the Rapid City Police Department for 30 years, retiring as Lieutenant in the traffic division. He is survived by his wife, Marcia Gilbert, Rapid City; 2 sons, Kevin Gilbert, Brian Gilbert; stepdaughter, Leslie and husband Stephen Yanez, Valley Springs, CA; 2 grandchildren, Cody and Brianna Yanez; 1 brother Joseph A. Gilbert Jr, Danvers, MA; 4 nephews, Robert Gilbert Jr, Zephyrhills, FL; Garry Gilbert, Louisana; William Gilbert, Honduras and 1 niece, Julie Hall, Florida. He was preceded in death by his parents; 1 brother Robert O. Gilbert, Sr and 1 niece, Lori Lambert.
