Pilot Point, TX – Calvin McLean, 78, of Pilot Point, TX died Sunday, October 29th in Dallas, TX. He was born on Nov. 11, 1927, in Potter County, SD to John H. and Eda Sevesind McLean. He married Jeanne J. Archer on Dec. 24, 1950 in Gettysburg, SD. He was in the US Army during the Korean Conflict from January 1, 1951 until he was honorably discharged December 1952. He was a serviceman for 31 ½ years for Montana Dakota Utilities. He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Rapid City, SD. He was a past member of the PTA in Rapid City, SD, a supporter and promoter of Youth Rodeo, Past 4-H Club Leader in Rapid City, an active member of Black Hills Territory Dance Club, A past President and contract negotiator of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Labor Union Local #1616, Lifetime member of VFW post 1273 and the AQHA.
He is survived by his wife, Jeanne, two daughters, Vikki McLean-Robbins and husband Mike of Pilot Point, and Tami Bishop and husband Blair of Rozet, WY. He is also survived by two sisters, Evelyn Turley of San Diego, CA and Harriet Olesen of Rapid City, SD, and two sisters-in-law Anna McLean of Rapid City, SD and Edna McLean of Seal Beach, CA. As well as five grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
