October 22, 1927 - July 28, 2009 Service Date: August 2, 2009 Funeral services will be 3:00 p.m., Sunday Aug. 2, 2009 at Behrens-Wilson Funeral Home with Pastor Herb Cleveland officiating. Visitation will be 1:30 until time of service. Interment will be 10:00 a.m., Monday Aug. 3rd at Black Hills National Cemetery with military honors provided by the VFW Post #1273 Honor Guard. |

Howard Carey Nordyke, 81, Rapid City died Tuesday July 28, 2009 at Rapid City Regional Hospital. He was born on Oct. 22, 1927 to Carey B and Rosie P (Ellis) Nordyke in Cogswell, ND. He entered the US Army March 13, 1947 and was honorably discharged April 1, 1953. Howard is survived by his wife, Caroline Feuillerat, Rapid City; 3 daughters, Nancy Nordyke, Piedmont; Debbie Thomas, San Jose, CA; Peggy Cooper, Eagle, ID; his son, David Nordyke, Rapid City; 9 grandchildren, Travis Mathieu, Anna Nordyke, Michaela Nordyke, Chino Nordyke, Crystal Dean, Allee Cooper, Marc Cooper, Tara Thomas and Trevor Thomas and 5 great grandchildren, Gage Cole, Kaden Mathieu, Ashley Dean, Miya Dean and Brady Dean. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother Johnny Nordyke and sister Patty Loveday. | |
