Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m., Friday March 23, 2007 at Faith Lutheran Church with Pastor Bruce Baum officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. View Cemetery. Visitation will be 5 to 7 p.m., Thursday March 22, 2007 at Behrens-Wilson Funeral Home.

Olivia C. “Frankie” Gilbertson Trout, 90, Rapid City, died Saturday March 17, 2007 at Golden Livingcenter Black Hills. Olivia Christine was born to Ingelbright and Judith (Bjerk) Larson, April 20, 1916 on the family farm by Erwin, SD. She attended a country school for eight years then to Erwin High School where she graduated Valedictorian of her class in 1934. Olivia married Thomas Gilbertson, June 19, 1936. They had four children, Irvin, Joan, Jean and June. They farmed around the Erwin area until 1948. Due to Thomas’ health, they moved to Rapid City. He passed away Aug. 9, 1972. After moving to Rapid City, Olivia worked at Rapid City Laundry, Hanson’s Meat Market, Red Owl and Piggly Wiggly grocery stores. She took a secretarial class then worked for Rushmore News until her retirement. Olivia married Dave Trout, June 5, 1978 in Rapid City. David passed away Nov. 21, 1983. She was a loving mother and grandmother. She enjoyed her family and friends. She was always ready to have fun and help everyone. She enjoyed traveling, dancing and going to the Senior Center. She was a member of Faith Lutheran Church where she was active in Alter Guild and Ladies Circles. She held many offices and taught Sunday School. She was a mentor for confirmation children. After retirement, she kept busy doing volunteer work for Pennington County Court House, Pennington County Council of Aging, American Association Retired Person Inc. (AARP), Lutheran Brotherhood, MADD and Retired Senior Volunteer Program. She received many awards and was chosen Senior Citizen of the Year in 1990 from South Dakota Association of Senior Centers in Pierre, SD. Frankie is survived by her son Irvin (Fern) Gilbertson, Rapid City; Joan Hiatt, Colorado Springs, CO; Jean (Delbert) Zambon, Whitewood, SD; June (James) Taylor, San Diego, CA; 10 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren; 2 step great grandchildren; 1 great great grandchild; 1 brother, Melvin (Emilia) Larson, Bellevue, WA and sister-in-law, Helen Larson, Rapid City and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by 2 husbands, her parents, 1 brother, Ludwig Larson, 2 sisters, Lucy Larson; Annie Laughlin
