Willma K. Lingard

Family & friends are invited to attend a memorial service at Westminster Presbyterian Church, 1020 Soo San Drive, Rapid City, SD at 10:00 a.m., Monday, July 24, 2006 with Pastor Bob Savot officiating.  There will be a fellowship prior to the service from 9 to 9:45.  Inurnment will follow at Pine Lawn Memorial Park Cemetery, Rapid City.

Willma Katherine Lingard, 91, long time Rapid City resident, passed away on Monday, June 19, 2006 at New Underwood Good Samaritan Center where she resided for only 12 days.

  She was born in Hutchinson, KS on Dec. 21, 1914 to Clinton and Rosetta (Taylor) Long of St. John, KS.  Willma attended Ottawa University, Ottawa, KS (where she met Amos) and Hays State University, Hays, KS.  She was a grade school teacher.  Willma’s nickname was “Shorty” Long.  She had a great affection for children, cats and flowers.  She was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church and Canyon Lake Senior Center.

  Alzheimer’s required Willma to live apart from her beloved husband, Amos, for nearly 3 years.  She was a resident of Fairmont Grand Manor.

  Willma is survived by her daughter Bonnie and husband Dwayne Konrad, Burlington, CO; grandson Todd Konrad, Northglenn, CO; granddaughter Lisa (Konrad) Curry and husband Dave, Thornton, CO; 3 great grandchildren, Alex, Jenna & Zachary Curry; a sister-in-law Dorothy Thomas, Monett, MO; 1 nephew & 2 nieces.  She was preceded in death by her parents & husband of 65 years, Amos, who died only 4 months earlier.
