Visitation will be on Thursday, December 21, 2023, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Behrens-Wilson Funeral Home, with vigil starting at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, December 22, 2023, at 11:00 a.m., at Cathedral of Our Lady of Perpetual Help, with Very Rev. Brian Christensen presiding. Burial will follow at Mountain View Cemetery.

James Patrick Gervasi, 78, of Rapid City, passed away on Monday, December 18, 2023, in Rapid City, after a lengthy illness.
James was born in Hot Springs, SD to Francis and Genevieve Gervasi on March 17, 1945. He graduated from Hot Springs High School in 1963. He married JoAnne Churchich on May 17, 1975, in Omaha, NE. He graduated from the University of Nebraska Dental School in 1980, where he taught for a year. In 1981, he joined the Ray Dental Group in Rapid City where he worked for 31 years. He was involved in many aspects of his church life.
He is survived by his wife, JoAnne; sons, Anthony and Matthew; granddaughter, Emma; grandson, Rowan; sisters, Phyllis Dixon and Mary Winkelmann.
He was preceded in death by his father and mother and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
