Visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 15, 2022 from 6:00 to 6:30 p.m. with a Vigil at 6:30 p.m., at Behrens-Wilson Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, March 16, 2022 at 2:00 p.m., at Cathedral of Our Lady of Perpetual Help, followed by burial at Mount Calvary Cemetery. A reception will be held at St. Thomas More Middle School following the burial.

Lloyd Dean Potter, 86, of Rapid City, passed away on March 10th, 2022 in Rapid City.

Lloyd was born in New Underwood to Lester and Lillian Potter on June 13th, 1935. He went to school in Rapid City. He married Mary Schmidt on May 28th, 1967 in Woonsocket, South Dakota. He graduated from the School of Mines with a masters in geology. He worked as a highway engineer for the state of South Dakota for 36 years. He was involved with the Masons for 65 years and a city councilman for the city of Mitchell, SD.

Lloyd is survived by his wife, Mary, his children Jill, Lloyd, and Andy, and his granddaughter, Lilliana and numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his father Lester A. Potter, his mother Lillian R. Potter, and his brothers Skip, Clarke, and Claude.
