David Posey Culverhouse passed away on December 23, 2021 in Rapid City, South Dakota. He was born on April 8, 1946 in Hollywood, Florida. He moved to New Underwood, South Dakota in 1981 and has lived in South Dakota ever since.
David served in the United States Air Force and retired as a MSGT after 25 years of service. His primary specialty was Nuclear Weapons and Munitions Sys Technician. He served in Vietnam, (Utapao Thailand) from 1970 to 1971.
After the death of their daughter, Michelle, in 1995, Jan and Dave took in and raised their grandchildren, Amanda and Christina, as their own.
He started a business, Irrigation Specialist and along with his wife, Rita, they started All Decked Out.
David is survived by his first wife, Janis Culverhouse; son, Jarrett Culverhouse; step-son, Kirk Campbell; step-daughter, Laura Smith; grandchildren, Amanda Culverhouse, Christina Culverhouse, Brennan Culverhouse, Lynae Culverhouse, Shayla Culverhouse; step-grandchildren, Connor Smith and Ethan Smith; and great grandson, Nolan E. Fleming.
He is preceded in death by his parents, John and Rilla Culverhouse; his wife, Rita Culverhouse; daughter, Michelle Culverhouse; brothers, Cecil Culverhouse, George Culverhouse, Johnson Culverhouse, Sam Culverhouse and Michael Culverhouse.
