Darwin Lee ‘Butch’ Coats, 72, Rapid City, died April 22, 2019 at Rapid City Regional Hospital. He was born December 3, 1946 in Pine Ridge, to Darwin Lee and Dorothy Lee (Short) Coats. He served in the US Coast Guard and was honorably discharged. Butch is survived by two daughters, Cheryl Coats, Box Elder and Ellen Amezquita, Japan; seven grandchildren; two brothers, Jim and John Coats and 4 sisters, Judy Miles, Peggy Werden, Shirley Sandler and Monica Night Chase. He is preceded in death by his parents, a sister Cheryl Darlene Coats and a brother Joe Krimmer. | |
