Ruth Eileene Brinkman

Ruth Eileene Brinkman, 88, Rapid City, died Wednesday May 18, 2011 at Rapid City Regional Hospital. She was born Dec. 15, 1922 in Warren, Ohio to Lawrence and Gladys (Garren) Woodburn. She grew up in Warren and Newton Falls, Ohio graduating from High school there. Ruth worked for various theatre chains as secretary, bookkeeper, buyer and booker of films and supervisor of theatres for many years. On May 5, 1945 she married Ray Brinkman in Las Vegas, NV and lived in many states before moving to Rapid City in 1954. She was a member of South Park United Church of Christ where she served on many boards and committees and as church secretary, treasurer and clerk for a number of years. Ruth is survived by her husband, Ray, Rapid City; two sons, David and Bruce, both of Denver, CO; two sisters, Jean Padgett, Ft Myers, FL and Vera Gleason, Avon, NY and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her mother and father; and her sister Sara Murphy.
