Visitation will be 5 to 7 p.m., Wednesday, March 1, 2017 at Behrens-Wilson Funeral Home with a Christian Vigil Service at 7 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, March 2, 2017 at the Cathedral of Our Lady of Perpetual Help.

Helen Gertrude (Clements) Louison 99, Rapid City, died Friday, February 24, 2017 at Rapid City Regional Hospital. Helen was born March 14, 1917 in Philip SD, to Ernest and Frieda (Meyers) Clements. She attended 1st through 8th grade at Enterprise Rural School and later graduated from Philip High School. After graduation, Helen worked at Northwestern Bill Telephone Company in Philip.Helen married Verle Louison on April 25, 1942. The lived in California for awhile, later moving back to Philip where they worked on ranches in the area. In 1950, they moved to Rapid City. Helen was a wonderful cook and baker, always sharing her goodies. She had countless volunteer hours at the Moose Lodge where she has been a member since 1957. Through the years, Helen joined a quilting club and has made many beautiful quilts. In 1968, she became a member of Catholic Daughters. In 1993, she received her 25 year pin and at the time of her death she had been a member for 33 years. She joined Extension Club in 1950 with the club dissolving in 1974, they joined with Extension Club #53, and she was a member to this day. Helen has bowled for over 50 years. She always had a sense of humor and would even laugh at herself. She was loved by all and was a neighbor to all. Helen is survived by her 3 children; Karen (Ron) Hedlund, Verlyn (Sally) Louison, and Cinda (Ron) Wiest; six grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; sister in-law Theresa Clements, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Verle, her parents and siblings Irene, Carl, Cass, John, Raymond, and Charles.
