Yvonne Ellis

Yvonne L. Ellis, 91, Rapid City, died Wednesday, Sept. 28, 2016 at Rapid City Regional Hospice House. She was born in Seneca South Dakota on September 25th, 1925, attended school in Seneca and Pierre.She moved to Rapid City in 1945 to work at the hospital. In 1948 she married John Ellis. Yvonne was a devoted wife and mother. In her later years she enjoyed spending time with her family and playing endless games of Go Fish and Wahoo with her grandkids, great grandchild, and children. She loved to travel to see them all especially over the holidays. The family will cherish the holiday memories of game playing, holiday baking, and a little holiday partying! She loved making teddy bears and giving them to her grandkids! She was a dedicated coffee club member where she loved to laugh and talk with her good friends on a daily basis. Throughout her life she enjoyed attending her children’s many events which included plays, concerts and many, many sporting events. She loved to visit friends and relatives and was known to play cards a little! She spent the last year and a half of her life living at the Golden Living Center in Rapid City spending her time telling anyone that would listen, that she was going to wheel herself out of there to freedom! She will be missed dearly by her friends and familyShe is survived by her three children, Debbie Ellis and her husband Chris Fredericks; Mike Ellis of Texas and Jeff Ellis of Nebraska; special family member Dana Ellis of Nebraska; six grandchildren, Rebbecca, Jeffrey, Connor, Erin, Layne and Avery and one great grandchild, Abby. She was preceded in death by her husband John, sister Norma, brothers Lowell Stoner, Larry Stoner and Doug Stoner and her parents Sylvia and Charles Stoner.
