Michael A. Fichera

Michael Anthony Fichera, 97, died Thursday March 17, 2011 at Rapid City Regional Hospital, Rapid City, SD. He was born June 15, 1913 in Bronx, NY and lived the majority of his life in Rhinebeck, NY; a son of immigrant parents from Sicily and a brother to two sisters and one brother. Mike was a loving husband to his wife Rita for 65 years; adored by his daughter Loretta Judge. He enjoyed his grandchildren, Christi Hauchins, Rosalyn Lampert, Joshua and Isaiah Judge and his 7 great grandchildren all of Rapid City. Michael was a veteran of WWII where he achieved the rank of Major in the US Army. He settled with his beloved Rita after the war in Rhinebeck, NY. Completing his BS at Manhattan College and after the end of the war he landed a job at the First National Bank of Rhinebeck in which he retired as its’ President and Chairman of the Board after 30 years. Mike was very involved in his community with many awarded accomplishments through the years. Because of his upstanding character, wonderful and caring generous nature, he acquired many friends for a lifetime! He leaves behind a family whom feel so blessed to have had him in their lives!
