March 11, 1923 - February 25, 2016 Service Date: March 2, 2016 Visitation is Tuesday, March 1, 2016 from 5:00 – 7:00 pm at Behrens-Wilson Funeral Home followed by a Vigil Service at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. at Cathedral of Our Lady of Perpetual Help on Wednesday, March 2, 2016, with interment following at Black Hills National Cemetery. |

Gerald Urban, 92, passed away unexpectedly, Thursday, February 25, 2016. Gerald was born on March 11, 1923, in Omaha, NE. He grew up on a farm north of Phillip, SD. Gerald was a deep sea diver during World War II. After leaving the Navy Gerald began his career as an over the road truck driver, spending the majority his career with Barber Transportation.Gerald married Mary Carmen Perez. Together they raised 5 children. Gerald was preceded in death by his wife Mary in 2011. He is survived by his children: Clark Urban, Rapid City, SD; Theresa Reever (Bobby), Shalimar, FL; Andrea Wolf (John), Rapid City, SD; James Urban, Denver, CO; Aaron Urban, Rapid City, SD. He is also survived by six grandchildren: Brandy Cassulo; Laura Fuerst, Jessica Hirschman, Emily Hirschman, Travis Wolff and Ian Wolff, and five great grandchildren. Gerald loved gardening and spending time with his grandchildren. He will be missed. | |
