LaVerne Ruth Hatch

LaVerne Ruth Richardson Hatch, daughter of Clarence Willis Richardson and Alta Bernice Pugh, was born December 6,1926 in Huron, SD. She moved to the Rapid City area with her family as a young girl. She graduated from Rapid City High School in 1944, and worked at First National Bank.LaVerne met John Clair Hatch at an Army Air Corp dance. They were married in Black Hawk, SD on April 14, 1946, and were later sealed in the Mesa, AZ temple June 21, 1961. John later built their house in Black Hawk, where they raised their family.LaVerne was active in the Black Hawk PTA for several years, and later worked for Sears. She was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. She served in many capacities, including a one year mission with John in Port Huron, Michigan.LaVerne was able to peacefully return to her Heavenly Father on January 27, 2016, and be reunited with those preceding her in death: her parents, John, her brother Harold, sister Lois, son, Dean(Jean), and grandson, Derek Bird. Survivors include her son, Robert (Lauralee), daughters JoAnne(Wallace) Davis and Sharon (Marshall) Bird, 15 grandchildren, 47 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great-grandchildren.
