Thelma Irene Wagner Sweigart, 90, Rapid City, died Thursday, Dec. 16, 2010, at Rapid City Regional Hospital.She was born Feb. 24, 1920, in Eldorado, Neb., to Howard and Martha (Tessman) Rath. She grew up in Eldorado and graduated from Harvard (Neb.) High School in 1935. Thelma married Carl Wagner at Lincoln, Neb., in March 1940. They later moved to Harvard, Neb., where she taught ceramic classes. They moved to Rapid City in the early 1960s and she has lived in the same house since. She worked at the Department of Transportation for 22 years retiring in 1985.Thelma married Leon Sweigart on Jan. 19, 2006, at Las Vegas.Thelma is survived by her husband, Leon Sweigart, Rapid City; stepdaughter, Eila (Sonny) Waterland, Snowflake, Ariz.; and three sisters, Elanor Klassoft, Layton, Utah, and DeLoris Yost and LaVonne Fitzkie, both of Harvard.She was preceded in death by her first husband, Carl Wagner, August 1998; her stepson, Jerome “Jerry” Wagner; her brother, Jerry Rath; and two sisters, Maxine Edwards and Joanne Williamson.
