Terry L. Myers, 70, Rapid city, passed away Wednesday, July 15, 2015 due to complications associated with Agent Orange from the Vietnam war and the Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (same as the Gulf War Syndrome only his was a result of the Vietnam War). Terry Lee Myers was born on March 4, 1945 in Wichita, Kansas. He was raised, loved and cared for by a very courageous mother, Hazel (Rather) Myers and grandmother, Jessee Rather, in the small rural community of Kiowa, Kansas where he also graduated from High School in 1963. Living was always bigger than life to Terry who enjoyed many things especially athletics where he was selected as an All-State basketball player during his senior year. After spending one last summer on the beloved ‘Butler Farm’, Terry enlisted in the Air Force where he spent the remainder of his working life. While he was in the Air Force, Terry met his wife Martha and they were married in Chapel Number 13 at Fitzsimmons Army Medical Center in Denver, Colorado on March 18, 1967. Born to this union were two beautiful children, Rebecca Marie and Robert Michael. Although Terry had many exciting adventures throughout his lifetime, his overwhelming joy came from working with the young kids in their Little League and Scouting endeavors. Later in life his grandchildren, Stephen, Alexandrea, Kailynn, Patrick, Janessa, Nathan, Duke and Remington captured his life and could always put a shining gleam in his eye. In closing, I would like to thank my mother, grandmother, Aunt Jean and my own family for giving me such a good life, even through the desperate years. I would also like to take this opportunity to thank ‘The Bob and Ellen Butler’ family for their additional guidance, support and love, all which was very gratifying to a young kid growing up without a father or grandfather.
