Ruth Anne was my Mom’s (Mary Ann LaFee Gogolin) first cousin. Their Moms were sisters. I was fortunate to have Ruth Anne as one of my godmothers. When my Mom passed it was Ruth Anne that called and talked and made me feel close to my Mom because they were close. This went on for years and I’m so grateful for that. A couple weeks before her passing I spoke with Ruth Anne. She didn’t say much but I was able to tell her I loved her (like we always ended our conversations). I knew she loved me, as well. I’m so sad knowing she isn’t here on earth. But I’m joyous in knowing she is with our Heavenly Father. Like my Grandma Lois LaFee always said…there is nothing like a good Episcopal funeral. Until I see you again, Ruth Anne…

Ruth was an amazing person to get to know over the last almost 3 years. She loved to talk about her children and grandchildren, she was so proud of them all! She was a stubborn woman but I loved every minute of that stubbornness as she loved to make you laugh in the process. She will be truly missed but I am happy that she is now pain-free and has moved on to a better place in life. Thoughts and prayers to her family, may they be at peace knowing that she is no longer suffering. Hugs to you all in this time of need for comfort!

Aunt Ruth Anne was my mother Joy’s sister. I remember how much I admired her. As a young girl, you could say she was a role model. She usually was dressed in some of the latest fashions, had the latest chart breaking records and had magazines and books, make-up and just was like the most articulate, smart and fun, interesting person to be related to much less know. Moreover, she gave me her attention and was just what I needed at that time of my life. I too have her love of writing and English. As I got older, I always aspired to be like her for others, like she was for me. Rest in Heavenly peace aunt Ruth Ann.
