Rennie Dale Grover, age 73, of Rapid City, entered into eternal life on Wednesday, March 28, 2012, on a beautiful sunny spring morning. He died at home with his wife Karen near his side after a one-year battle with pancreatic cancer. Rennie was born in Portland, Oregon, on April 25, 1938, to Henry and Kathryn (Pasko) Grover. He was raised in Portland and graduated from Franklin High School. In 1956, Rennie married Alice Crosswhite and they had three daughters: Twyla (1957), Kelly (1959) and Tracie (1961). Rennie and Alice divorced, and Rennie later married Karen (Amundson) Strand on May 8, 1970, in Oregon. After working as an office equipment repairman for several years, Rennie went to work for Sears in 1975, where he worked as an appliance repair technician for the next 20 years until his retirement. In January, 1987, tragedy struck the family when 14-year-old son David died as the result of a vehicle accident. Rennie served for a time in the National Guard, both in Oregon and South Dakota. He enjoyed geocaching, gardening, and traveling. He was a member of First United Methodist Church, Rapid City.
