Ortance H. Swanson, 91, Rapid City, died Monday, March 24, 2014 at Rapid City Regional Hospital.She was born May 14, 1922 in Delaware Township, SD to Alfred and Clara (Vaa) Neubauer and later worked in assembly in California during WW II.Ortance married James I. Swanson June 12, 1965 in Pierre.She owned and operated a uniform shop in Rapid City for many years. Ortance loved Chesapeake Bay Retrievers and was a lifetime member of the Rapid City Kennel Club where she held each office. She also enjoyed bowling.Ortance is survived by nieces, Denyce Bigelow, Marilyn Lueck, Kay Johnson, Carolyn Anderson; nephews, Tod Neubauer, Kurt Bigelow, sister-in-law, Delaine Neubauer; grand nieces, nephews and numerous cousins.She was preceded in death by her husband on February 9, 1971, a brother and 2 sisters.
