Nellie Blanche Kosine, 93, Rapid City died Tuesday April 12, 2011 at Rapid City Regional Hospital. She was born Sept. 20, 1917 in Shawnee, WY to John and Mary (Smolick) Nance. She went to Shawnee School in Shawnee, WY and worked in the coal mine. Nellie married Johnny Kosine on Aug 25, 1934 in Hot Springs. She worked at a meat packing house in Crawford, NE and one in Alliance NE. Nellie and John lived in Wheatland WY and worked on a ranch. They then moved to Rapid City where they owned and operated an apartment building. Nellie always talked about her favorite horse named “Sweetheart’ and then she would say that’s just what she was, a real sweetheart. Nellie is the last of her family, her sister Iva passed away Aug. 19, 2010; brothers loyd William Nance passed away Dec. 12, 1942 and her brother Roy L. Nance passed away Oct. 25, 1997; along with her parents. She is survived by numerous nephews and nieces and great nieces and nephews.
