Lorene Lavon Matthews, 73, Rapid City, died Wednesday April 9, 2014 at Golden Livingcenter Black Hills. She was born May 11, 1939 in Sioux City, Iowa to Harry and Jean (Langfeldt) Wherry. She was a beloved daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, nurse and friend. She touched many lives. Lorene is survived by her children, Michael (Priscilla) Foster, Houston, TX; Paula (Stan) Hohn, Rapid City; Brenda Foster, Dayton, OH; four grandchildren, Van Foster, Victoria and Amanda Yoder and Cameron Foster and two great grandchildren, Van Foster, Jr and Stella Foster; two brothers, Rick Wherry, Tucson, AZ and Jerry Lee Klug, Jacksonville, AL and two sisters, Lois (Robert) Furdeck, Yankton and Linda Wilson, Florida.
