Funeral Servies will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, March 17, 2014 at Behrens-Wilson Funeral Home, Rapid City and 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, March 18, 2014 at Feigum Funeral Home, Pierre. Interment will be in Riverside Cemetery, Pierre.Visitaion will be held one hour prior to the services.

Jerald “Jerry” Patrick Garrigan was born January 6, 1942 to John “Jack” and Clara (Uecker) Garrigan in Pierre, SD. He attended Giddings country school through the 8th grade and graduated from Highmore High School in 1960. He loved and understood the land and enjoyed farming and ranching. He married Shirley Stahlecker on July 30, 1965. They had two children: Cinda and Keith. In 1999, he moved to Hill City and worked for Rushmore Forest Products for 14 years. He married Edwina Cyrus in 2001. Jerry retired in 2012 and kept busy helping friends and neighbors in any way he could; always ready and willing to lend a helping hand. He enjoyed playing cards, fishing, reading, following football, the NFR and keeping up with his grandsons’ activities. Grateful for having shared in his life are his wife Edwina, Hill City, SD, children, Cindi (Gary) Kjellsen, Watertown, SD; Keith (Amy) Garrigan, Onida, SD, mother Clara Garrigan-Hyde, Pierre, SD, grandsons Tyler Cooper, Watertown, SD; Jaron Schlecter, Faulkton, SD; Gabe and Steven Garrigan, Onida, SD, great-grandson Braydon Cooper, Watertown, SD, step-children Robert Earl Cyrus and Kenneth William Cyrus, siblings Clara (Doug) Marsh, Onida, SD; Judy (Dick) Hansen, Harrold, SD; Charlene (Todd) Bietz, Tripp, SD; Jack (Vicki) Garrigan, Dupree, SD and Stewart (Tina) Hyde, Onida, SD, brother-in-law Bob Joachim, Agar, SD, numerous aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of special friends in Hill City that meant so much to him. He was preceded in death by his father John Garrigan, step father Stewart Hyde, infant brother Keith Hyde and sister Elaine Hyde-Joachim.
