He was my best friend for over 30 years. We met at South Junior High when we stole hall passes from our German teacher and opted to take afternoons off for a few weeks. His insight and contribution to my development as a human being can not be understated. He was there when I married, divorced, graduated from college and medical school and during all the tumultuous ups and downs that occur in life. I was there for his graduations, promotions, publications and his illness. He allowed me to witness his deepest thoughts, emotions, and concern as I shared mine with him The testimony that our friendship provided was profoundly transforming and I wouldn't be half the person that I am without his constant presence. It will be hard with him gone. I told him I loved him many times, as did he. We both understood that the only transformation from anger - is love.

Sorry to hear that Jason has left us. He was a hard worker. My fondest memory of him was the day and night that he and his crew moved library shelves. When I went to see how things were going late in the evening, they were driving library bookshelves around the room like Mack trucks. They had eaten a couple of fast food meals, but they hadn't stopped. He looked exhausted. His small crew looked exhausted. I was proud of him. He always tried to do his best. My sincere condolences to all his family and friends.

Jason never failed to make me laugh while working together at the Rapid City Public Library, which was a blessing. When he thought he was a golfer, I’d have to dig balls out of my bag for him and his dad! Only the good die young, he can now Rest In Peace and chat with our crew we also lost too early.

Evelyn and family I am so sorry to hear of Jason's passing. I think about his transformation at the library. When I first met him in 1997 I think it was, he had those long flowing locks and he became such a professional-looking gentleman! Eventually he became my supervisor and I am forever grateful that I knew him.

So very sad to hear about Jason. He was a really good friend. We’ll all mis him dearly. I pray that God will wrap his arms around Jason’s friends and family, hold us tight and comfort us while we grieve.

I am so sorry to hear that Jason is gone. I worked with him at Rapid City Library- he was a good librarian and supervisor, and an interesting person. I enjoyed the poetry nights that he and his poetry group sponsored. My heartfelt sympathy to all who loved him.

Evelyn and family members: I was shocked to hear of Jason’s passing. I remember the times you spent getting my kids to church functions when I had to work. Our kids are so close in age. To realize one of those kids, now an adult but still a child in our hearts is now passed on. As a parent we do not expect to bury one of your children or as a sibling, one of our siblings. Prayers for each of you as you deal with Jason’s passing. Hugs and love. And know you can call me any time of the day or night.
