Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m., Saturday Jan. 6, 2007 at Trinity Lutheran Church with Rev. Wilbur Holz and Rev. Al Jacobsen officiating. Visitation will be 4 to 6 p.m., Friday Jan. 5, 2007 at Behrens-Wilson Funeral Home.

Gladys E. Godfrey, 89, Rapid City, died Sunday Dec. 31, 2006 at Clarkson-Mt. View Healthcare Center. Gladys was born on Feb. 15, 1917 to Nels and Elizabeth (Hannem) Anderson at New Underwood, SD. She grew up in the New Underwood area and went to school in New Underwood and Wall, SD, graduating from Wall High School in 1934. Gladys married Raymon Godfrey on May 28, 1938. They lived in New Underwood until 1941, when they moved to Rapid Valley where Ray worked for Walt Taylor at the Warren Lamb Ranch until 1944. They then moved to Rapid City where she has resided since. Gladys was a charter member of the Women of the Moose. She was active in Navy Mothers and a member of Trinity Lutheran Church where she served in several capacities. Gladys is survived by three sons, Jerry (Joyce); Bob (Barbra); Daniel (Lisa Mayer); all of Rapid City; twelve grandchildren, Brian (Twila) Godfrey, Upton, WY; Lori (Jim) Tripp, Brandon; Greg (Cheri) Godfrey, Lexington Park, MD; Lisa (Donn) Burgess, Casper, WY; Michele (Dave) Gabert, Rapid City; Brett (Connie) Godfrey, Rapid City; Jim (Faith) Godfrey, Sioux Falls; Jay (Merlyn) Godfrey, Dubai; Melissa Godfrey, Rapid City; DeAnne Hildreth, San Antonio, TX; Tara (Shelby) Moore, Rapid City; Clint (Molly Black) Godfrey, Rapid City; eighteen great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren and one sister, Clara Bowman, Rapid City. She was preceded in death by her husband Raymon, June 23, 2005; her parents, brother, Lloyd Anderson, two sisters, Theresa Wurnig and Nora Anderson, half brother Alvin Anderson and half sister Norvella Case and great granddaughter Morgan Godfrey.
