Effie L. Walker age 86 of Spearfish, SD, passed away on Sunday, July 8th at Belle Fourche Healthcare Center Effie was born July 4, 1926 in Conneaut Lake, PA to Rev. Liberty and Alicia Morton. Effie married Willis E. Walker August 31, 1946 in Denver, CO. After Willis’ death, November 1998, she moved to Spearfish, SD. Her life took her on many adventures. Through out her life she traveled to and lived in many places from Pennsylvania to New Mexico and many places in between, including Colorado, South Dakota, Minnesota and Nebraska, always enjoying the challenge of a new home. While living in Spearfish she connected with old friends and made many new friends. She was a member of a Knit and Crochet group that was full of love and laughter. She loved to laugh. She was a regular presence at the afternoon coffee table at the Hickory House enjoying all the banter and laughter. She loved visits with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Driving up the Spearfish Canyon was an exciting trip, always seeing something new and wonderful. Effie loved life. She will be greatly missed by family and friends. Effie is survived by her children; Rick (Nancy), Long Beach, CA; Cindy (Jim), Fargo, ND; Paul (Simone), Blaine, MN; Jim (Cindy) and John (Paula) Belle Fourche, SD; eleven grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband Willis, sister Autumn, brothers, Manley and Gordon.
