Services are to be held Wednesday, Nov 5th, 2008 at Behrens-Wilson Funeral Home, 632 St. Francis at 2 PM. A luncheon and open house will follow at Fairway Hills Party House, 3999 Fairway Hills Drive for all who want to join us to celebrate Bunny’s life.

Dorothy Jean (Bunny) Tyler, 79, Rapid City died Nov. 1, 2008 at Rapid City Regional Hospital. Bunny was born March 20, 1929 in Sioux City, IA to Wilhelm (Bill) Monson and Verna Fletcher. She had one brother Dick Smikle and one sister Ruth Ann Petty. Her parents, brother and sister all preceded her in death. Bunny spent her younger years in Kennebec, SD and then moved to Rapid City with her family where she graduated from Rapid City High School in 1947. After graduation Bunny attended MacMurry College in Jacksonville, IL for 2 years. On May 22nd 1949 she married Raymond Tyler. They we blessed with four daughters. During her marriage to Ray they owned and operated National Van Lines and then Black Hills Mayflower Moving and Storage. Bunny was very active in Business and Professional Women, Toastmasters, Zonta Club of the Black Hills and SCORE. She was a world traveler and enjoyed trips to Africa, Australia, Norway, Russia and many other parts of the world. She most loved being with her family and friends through years of camping and spending time at the family’s cabin in the Black Hills. Grateful for having shared her life are her partner and friend Bev Ambrose, daughters Carol Trueba and husband Ken of Corvallis, OR, Kathryn (Kitty) Tyler and husband Cliff Dodd of Cape Coral, FL, Kris Sammons and husband Mark of Midland, SD, and Kelly Tyler and husband Kent Husefest of Stavanger, Norway: Bev’s son Sean and daughter Gwen, 6 grandchildren, Teresa Bellinger, Amy Knudson, Angela Meisman, Teri Lambert, Niklas Husefest and Kasper Husefest: 3 step grandchildren, Brooke, Casey and Megan Sammons; 6 great grandchildren and 2 step great grandchildren.
