Delores Anna Kimball was born on August 17, 1918 in Canova, SD to David and Elsie Carson. The family lived on a farm during the Great Depression. Delores graduated high school and attended college for one year and was employed with the civil service during World War II and continued her civil service work for 19 years. Delores was united in marriage in April 1944 to Floyd B. Kimball. Their marriage was blessed with three children. The couple made their home in Rapid City after Floyd’s military service. Delores was a charter member of Hope Christian Reformed Church in Rapid City, SD. Delores was a recent resident of Echo Ridge and Peaceful Pines Senior Living Center. She was involved with church activities, helping others, enjoyed doing crossword puzzles, jigsaw puzzles, knitting, crocheting and computer solitaire. Her grandchildren and great grandchildren were her pride and joy and she enjoyed being a grandma. Her most recent milestone was celebrating her 100th birthday which she was able to enjoy with family and friends.
Grateful for sharing her life are her children, Carol (John) Edenfield, Stockton, CA, Glenn Kimball, Ohio, and Kenneth (Sue) Kimball, Rapid City, SD; grandchildren, Sheri (Kirby) Holloway, Troy Snyder, Brenda Grabowski, Tanya (Dave) Vela, Rhea (Chris) Erickson, and Kendra Kimball; great grandchildren, Brandi (Nate) McDowell, John Holloway, Jesse Vela, Katie Vela, Amber (Thad) Smith, Charity Ludwig, and Dylan Ludwig; great-great grandchildren, Talia Smith and Silas Smith as well as her nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death are her husband Floyd (Bud) Kimball, daughter Carol Edenfield, great grandsons Lucas Ludwig and Kody Holloway, siblings Irene (Harvey) Newald, Delbert (Irene) Carson, Celone (Juanita) Carson, Gerald Carson, Nyullia (Fred) DeBoer, and Louella (Robert) Thompson.
In lieu of flowers memorial gifts may be sent to Hope Christian Reformed Church, 202 E. Philadelphia Street, Rapid City, SD.
