Funeral Services will be 10:00 a.m., Thursday, June 8, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, Rapid City, SD. Internment will be at Boyd Cemetery, Newcastle, WY.
Visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00 p.m., Wednesday, June 7, at Behrens-Wilson Funeral Home, Rapid City, SD.

Our loving Father, Grandfather, Husband and Son, has left his earthly body to return to his Heavenly Father on Sat. June 3, 2006.
Dean Alan Hatch was born April 6, 1948 in Rapid City, SD to John Clair and LaVerne Hatch. He is survived by his loving mother, his eternal companion, his brother and his family, his two sisters and their families, his 5 children and their spouses with 25 grand-children.
As a graduate from Rapid City’s Central High School in 1966; he participated in many of the schools sports and clubs. He enjoyed basketball, baseball, football, track, wrestling, rodeo, 4-H, FFA, BSA and the R-club. During which time he also worked at a couple of dairies and a Trading Post.
After graduation he served a 2 year mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in the North-Western States Mission.
Upon his return home he was married to Jean Lynette Gough on June 27, 1969 in the Salt Lake City, Utah temple for time and all eternity.
He moved to Brookings, SD to pursue a BS degree in Animal Science at South Dakota State University and graduated on the Dean’s list. After graduation he moved his new family to Belle Fourche, SD and started his own business, D & J Trim Upholstery, from 1972 until 1987. While living in Belle he was Boy Scout Troop leader for 10 years leading over 30 young men. From 1987-1995 he became a District Executive for the Boy Scouts of America in Riverton, WY and later in Williston, ND. After working for the Boy Scouts he owned an LDS bookstore, worked in sales and worked as a contract driver.
He was also a spiritual leader. He served as a youth seminary teacher, as a High Council member, Counselor to bishops, a bishop, and finally worked in the Bismarck ND temple.
He loved camping, canoeing, swimming, ice-skating, golfing and horseback riding. He was a jokester, storyteller and a very spiritual mentor. His warm smile, the twinkle in his eyes and his sense of humor touched the lives of everyone he came into contact with.
Dad we can’t put into words how much we love and miss you. Your greatest accomplishment is that we all know that we were loved and cherished. Till we meet again.
