Crisanta “Cris” Cowley, 60, Box Elder, died Saturday, July 29, 2016 at Rapid City Regional Hospital. She was born to Jose and Remedios Dizon on March 28, 1956, Philippines. She grew up and attended school in Angeles City, Philippines. She met her husband Steven Cowley in Angeles City in 1978, they married in 1979. They have one son and two daughters. After several moves with the Air Force, they made Box Elder, South Dakota home in 1990. Cris enjoyed being around people and making new friends that truly became family to her. She had a big heart and was willing to do anything for anyone. More importantly she wanted everyone to be fed always saying “eat now, let’s get some food, or have some more” She touched the lives of so many people and will be sorely missed by all. Cris and her husband Steve had an amazing 37 year marriage most can only hope for. Through sickness and in health their love only grew stronger. Steve was always by her side and a huge source of strength during her fight. Her true happiness was being around her four grandchildren. There was always a smile and pure joy on her face when they were around. They could never do wrong in her eyes. The best way to sum up Cris is that she has a heart of gold filled with love and truly embodied the four F’s: Faith, Family, Friends, and Food. She is survived by her husband Steve, Box Elder; daughters; Kristine, Minot AFB; Angela Shuls and Jamey, Ellsworth AFB; Grandchildren; Ashley and Jaylyn Cowley, Carter and Logan Shuls; Sister, Cristina Alano and Alan; brothers: Ed and Bart Dizon. She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers, sisters, and son, Steven Jr.
