Clifford R. Sieh was born in Burke, SD on August 5, 1918 and died on December 15, 2009. Clifford moved to Wasta in March of 1918 and spent the rest of his life there. He graduated from Wasta High School in 1935. On October 1, 1938, Clifford was married to Opal Irene Fenner and to this union, six children were born. Clifford was a man of many talents and the possessor of a work ethic second to none. He had many careers, including farming, trucking, construction work, the building of Interstate 90, moving buildings (large and small) and working as a welder/mechanic for most of his life, which included the construction of the Titan and Minuteman missile sites in western South Dakota. Dad always felt that it was his duty to keep his farming and ranching neighbors working – he was a mechanic and could figure out a way to repair any broken part of a piece of machinery. Being an inventor came naturally to him, and if it could be welded, Dad could certainly do it. Clifford is survived by his children, Clifford James (Bonita) Sieh, Gillette, WY; Linda Rae Cudmore, New Underwood; Kittie Sieh, Idaho Falls, ID and Shirley Irene (Stuart) Kitterman, Wall; two sisters, Leah Sebade and Gwenda Melvin. There are nine grandchildren to mourn his passing, Kimberly McPeek, Sandusky, OH; Bonnie Jo (Gary) Sirois, Plainville, CT; James (Tisa) Cudmore, Idaho Falls, ID; Michael (Carrie) Sieh, Gillette, WY; Angela (Chris) Ceretto, Harrisburg; Andrea (Lonny) Trenary, Centennial, CO; Kristopher Kitterman, Wall; Meggan (Shane) Regelin, Rapid City and Bruce (Miranda) Kitterman, Rapid City; as well as 17 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Kittie Sieh, his wife Opal, March 1992; two sons, Curtis and Charles and a sister, Luella Forkner.
