Charles E. Shirk, 72, Rapid City died Wednesday, Oct. 13, 2010 at Rapid City Regional Hospital. He was born Oct 21, 1937 in Cable, Ohio. He entered the US Air Force Oct. 26, 1954 and was honorably discharged Sept. 20, 1957. He worked for many years at Allied Van Lines as a truck driver. Charles is survived by 2 daughters, Brenda Brimmer and Cathy Leathers, both of Rapid City; 2 sons, Blake Shirk, Phoenix, AZ; Blaine Shirk, Rapid City; 16 grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren; step-daughter Paula K. Watson, Indiana; 2 step-sons Paul Elam Jr, Greenfield, IN; Clifford Cogan, Bedford, PA; 2 sisters, Dora Mae McIntosh, Texas; Bunny, Ohio; 1 brother, William Frye, Ohio and 5 special ladies in his life, Janet Wilson, Rapid City; Betty Shirk, Indiana; Carol Shirk, Pennsylvania; Ann and Sharon both of Rapid City. He is preceded in death by a son; his parents; 3 brothers and 3 sisters.
