Dear Loretta, Pat and our Jefferson relatives -- What a good heart and kind man... I remember when I was first introduced to Carl and Mike in the RC post office..they picked me up and proceeded toward the door... Sam was in shock (which was a feat). Mom and Pop Jeff became our parents, and now Carl is with them. Thank you for sharing Carl with us. May Tunkashila, Grandfather Creator, bless you and bring you comfort during this time. Mitakuye Oyasin- We are all related. Sincerely with love and respect, Jace, Jr., and Dawson DeCory, Spearfish

My son told me of Carl's passing. I am so sorry to hear that news! The best guide ever on our many trips to the Black Hills and our stays at Mountain Meadow! Those are some of my best memories....not to mention playing Sh** on your Neighbor and sitting next to Carl and taking all of his quarters!!!! He always told me that he could never tell what cards I had and I got the best of him every time, yet he still sat next to me! Love that guy! Sending a hug to you Loretta and many prayers to all of Carl's family and friends! I'm sure he and Bubba are having a great reunion and will definitely be keeping his eye on all of you! God's blessings and comforting peace to you all!

Loretta & Family, I am deeply saddened to read of Carl's passing. You are in my thoughts and prayers. He was a friend that I have known for over 50 years. Although I haven't had the opportunity to visit with Carl very often these last few years, I truly enjoyed the occasions that we did get a chance to visit. Lots of hunting stories with a few tall tales mixed in.. I know that he will be missed by all whom have had the pleasure of knowing him. May He Rest in Peace! Phil Lampert
