Bernard G. Anders, 89, Rapid City, died Monday, July 28, 2014. Bernard was born in Marcus, SD on June 6, 1925, the second of five children born to Carl and Alice (Edwards) Anders. He spent his younger years in Marcus attending school, grades 1-8. His later school years were spent in Sturgis and Faith. During his years in Faith, he worked for Lawrence and Anna Titus where he met his future wife, Lucille. He and Lucille were married October 31, 1944 and to this union four daughters were born; Linda, Bernadette, Anita and Connie. Their first years of marriage were spent in the Faith and Terryville area and later settling in Rapid City where his career in construction began. He was a well known craftsman with many office buildings and beautiful homes to his credit. Bernie, as he was known to all family and friends, and Lucille enjoyed their retirement years traveling and spending winters in Blythe, CA, making life long friends. He is survived by his wife of 70 years, Lucille; three daughters, Linda White (Larry); Anita McCord (Tom Keiner) and Connie Huntington (Brian Fuhrmann); 8 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister JoAnn Strong and brother Ronnie Anders (Wanda) both of Union Center; sister-in-law Carolyn Anders, Elm Springs; brothers and sisters-in-law Bob and Barbara Britt, Don and Bonnie Zimmerman and sister-in-law Ruth Titus along with numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Alice Edwards Anders, infant daughter Bernadette Anders, brothers Vernon and Marvin Anders, sister-in-law Lotus Titus, brother-in-law Roy Titus and brother and sister-in-law Ray and Vi Titus.
