Al was a truly exceptional human being who left a lasting impression on many people. His passing was incredibly sad but he will be remembered by a lifetime of honorable leadership and worthy accomplishments.

I will miss my brother. He was a good person. In war and in peace he was a shining example of what a man can achieve with honor, integrity and hard work. He left us too soon but he wasted none of the time he had on earth. Semper Fi Al. Hope we meet again someday.

I’m sorry to hear of Al’s passing. We were young Marine second lieutenants serving together in D 2/10 back in the early 80s. We recently reconnected on FB. Fair winds and following seas! Semper fidelis!
